Manufacturing Statement
The efficiency of any carbon filter is directly related to the quality of carbon media used; the quality of the cartridge casing; and the loading technique adopted, with the added proviso of an even air flow through the cabinet - which is out of our control! The Carbon Filters Direct (CFD) manufacturing process has been developed over many years with this in mind and is carried out under strictly controlled conditions.

MEDIA
We only use carbon which is carefully sourced, then the active carbon media is prepared in small batch quantities by the addition of thoroughly researched additives (see vapour handling). The carbon media is then tested to ensure that all filters will achieve their optimum retention capacity.

CASINGS
Filter casings are manufactured from reinforced thermoplastic. This ensures that the weight is minimal for ease of handling and installation, whilst providing very high impact strength, excellent dimensional stability and chemical resistance.

FINAL STAGES
The casing is filled, tightly packed (so no settling can occur during shipment) and the weight of each filter is checked and recorded.

PRE-FILTER
If the cabinet that the filter is destined for requires a pre-filter, then this will be added at this stage.

PACKAGING
The filter along with its pre-filter (if applicable) will be packed into a heat sealed plastic bag and robust box for shipping.

PERFORMANCE
CFD filters are shown to provide a filtration efficiency of 99.9% throughout their life to the point of saturation, for all chemically active molecules/chemical species. This includes any chemicals with a molecular weight above 30 and a boiling point above 60oC. Some compounds, which do not fall into this bracket, are also well adsorbed because of their molecular size and structure.
